Genelec rocks MetalCon 2026 in Berlin as part of 8380A World Tour

Helping MetalCon 2026 bring heavy rock music fully into focus, Genelec and our partner Audio Pro recently exhibited at the specialist event and offered a calibrated listening space – featuring our new 8380A SAM™ Main Monitors – where attendees could experience the precision of Genelec studio monitors and learn from some of the best engineers in the genre.

Now in its second year, MetalCon bills itself as the first event designed specifically for musicians, producers and mixing engineers who create heavy guitar music. Alongside opportunities to discover new gear and network, the event offers attendees valuable workshops from renowned experts, who are there to share their knowledge and workflows.

As part of Genelec’s commitment to supporting education, we were delighted to help the event’s learning programme succeed by offering the Genelec Lounge, an acoustically treated listening environment powered by a stereo pair of our 8380A SAM Main Monitors and a 7382A SAM Subwoofer, all calibrated with GLM. There, we hosted a fascinating series of masterclasses and workshops, giving attendees the chance to hear the system in action and take away practical insight on room acoustics and monitoring system placement – and tips for guitar and drum recording, vocal production, MIDI programming, and using both plug-ins and outboard gear.

Our very own expert audio engineer in Germany, Eric Horstmann, ensured attendees left with a broader knowledge of how room acoustics and system placement affect the accuracy of studio monitors, how to manage those issues, and how our adaptive solutions help to make life a lot easier. Renowned Metal Producers Jacob Hansen, Lasse Lammert and Jens Bogren delivered the rest of the presentations, providing an array of advice for improved mixing and mastering. Ensuring every detail was heard by the whole audience, our full-range 8380A SAM Main Monitors – which are now on their World Tour – showed the advantage of their coaxial driver technology, which ensures imaging stays precise across a wide sweet spot.

Outside the Genelec Lounge, we welcomed visitors to experience our The Ones SAM Monitors – showcased in three sizes: the 8331A, 8341A and 8351B. Also advantageous for the exceptional accuracy offered by their coaxial design, The Ones offer a more compact solution compared to the 8380A, perfect for smaller studios. The Ones also offer a great way to be visually expressive, with 120 custom colours available to choose from – three of which we displayed at MetalCon.

Thank you to all who attended! See you again next year!
